B 990 Colors Function Part 2: Changing Thread Brand & a Single Color

Ready to stitch outside the thread box? The B 990 makes it easy to swap thread brands and fine-tune your palette—whether you're loyal to a different manufacturer or just curious how a new hue might play with your design.

Switching Thread Brands

By default, the B 990 uses Isacord thread, but you’re not locked in! Want to explore other options? Just tap the Change Brand icon:

• A list of available thread brands appears.
• Select your preferred brand, and the entire design updates to show those thread colors.

Fine-Tune a Single Thread Color

Sometimes, you just want to tweak one color to see how it blends. Here’s how:

1. Tap the Change Thread Color icon next to the color you want to adjust. 
2. A rainbow of colored circles appears—these are all the thread options from your selected brand.
3. The current color is the first circle in the first row.
4. Scroll through to preview different color numbers. 

Search by Color Number

Already have a thread in mind? Tap the search icon to open the number pad:

• Enter the color number from your stash.
• Instantly preview how that specific shade blends with your design.

Mix Brands for Maximum Flexibility

If you want to try a thread from a different brand for just one color tap the palette icon.

• Choose your desired brand.
• The change applies only to the selected thread color, leaving the rest of your design untouched.
