B 990 Status Bar Function: WiFi, Clock & Alarm

The BERNINA B 990’s Status Bar displays key functions, including WiFi, Clock, and Alarm Functions. The WiFi icon shows your connection status alongside the current time, while an Alarm symbol appears if an alarm is set.

Connecting via WiFi

The B 990 uses a 2.4GHz WiFi network for seamless connectivity. WiFi connectivity allows the B 990 to connect to:

• BERNINA Stitchout App: Monitor embroidery stitch progress on your mobile device.
• BERNINA Help Center: Access help center content on a phone or tablet.
• Embroidery Software Designer Plus V9: Transfer designs to the machine and send scanned images to the software.

To connect, tap the WiFi, Clock & Alarm icon:

1. Turn WiFi on using the toggle button.
2. Tap the > icon to access Settings.
3. Select a network from the Available Networks list. For protected networks, enter the password.

If we look at the WiFi, Time & Alarm icon the bold WiFi icon indicates an active connection, allowing you to quickly check if your WiFi is on and connected while sewing.

Once you have connected to a network, you can easily reconnect by simply tapping the toggle button to turn the WiFi back on, without needing to repeat this initial setup process.

Do note that if you leave the toggle button activated and switch the machine off, when you turn the machine back on it will automatically connect to the WiFi.

Once set up, toggle WiFi on and off directly from the display. Ensure your device is on the same network for transferring designs, tracking embroidery, or accessing the help center.

Naming Your B 990

You can customize your machine name for network display:

1. Tap Main Menu > Settings > Machine > Information > Identification > Machine Name.
2. Enter the name and tap Main Menu > Sewing Mode to return.

Clock & Alarm Settings

Set the time, date, and time zone by tapping WiFi, Clock & Alarm Icon. Access the Settings to:

• Configure the alarm.
• Choose an alarm sound.
• Add a custom alarm message.

Return to sewing mode by tapping Main Menu > Sewing Mode.
